The Signal87 connector lets Claude search and read the documents in your Signal87 account: ordinances, municipal code, policies, council minutes, contracts and other records. Claude answers from your files, quotes the exact wording, and names the file it came from.
Connect Signal87 to Claude
- In Claude, open Settings → Connectors and find Signal87. If it isn’t listed for your account yet, choose Add custom connector and enter
https://www.signal87.ai/mcp. - Choose Connect. A Signal87 page opens.
- Sign in with your usual Signal87 account, review what Claude is asking for, and choose Allow.
You need a Signal87 account with documents in it. Office members can use their office’s shared files too.
What you can ask
- “What does our code say about short-term rental permits?”
- “When did council approve the parking amendment, and what changed?”
- “Find every contract with Axiologic and summarize the terms.”
- “Which documents respond to this public records request?”
Claude searches your files, reads the ones that matter, and quotes them. When your files don’t cover a question, it should say so rather than guess. For anything with legal consequence, confirm against the official code or with your city attorney.
What Claude can do
- List workspaces: your personal workspace and any city office you belong to.
- List files: titles, types, dates and folders, newest first.
- Search files: the full text of every file in a workspace, with short excerpts.
- Read a file: its extracted text, in parts for long documents.
Files in the trash are never shown. Office files are available only while you’re a member of that office; when an administrator removes you, access ends immediately. Scanned pages that couldn’t be read have no text for Claude to search.
Privacy and security
- Claude sees only files you could open yourself in Signal87, and only when it uses a Signal87 tool in your conversation.
- Signal87 doesn’t receive or keep your Claude conversations, and doesn’t log the content of files sent to Claude. Content Claude retrieves is handled by Anthropic under its terms.
- The connection uses standard OAuth sign-in. Access lasts one hour at a time and renews for up to 30 days.

Disconnect
Remove the Signal87 connector in Claude under Settings → Connectors. Signing out of Signal87 on all devices also stops the connection from renewing.
